Minimally Invasive Surgery
What are the tasks of an assisting nurse in a min. invasive surgery operation?
I need some infos for a job to do at university… I’m italian so talk as clear as possible, thanks.
The title of my essay is “Technological innovations & nursing competences: what a nurse has to do and what he has to know during a minimally invasive surgery operation”.

The tasks of the scrub (assisting) nurse in minimally invasive surgery are similar to that during major surgery.
They are responsible for setting up the instruments for the surgery, protecting the sterile enviroment (many a time I have been shouted at not to touch this or that by the scrub nurse lol), providing the surgeon with the correct instruments and other materials during the operation, and in some cases assisting in the operation.
In some operations such as colonoscopy, where sterility in not of utmost imprtance, the role of the assisting nurse can be to do just about anything. From checking the equpment getting KY jelly out of the drawer.
