Why no sex for 2 weeks after D&C?

I had a D&C yesterday to remove endometriosis. I feel fine today, no pain, no soreness and only minimal cramping. Why did the doctor tell me no sex for two weeks? I understand if I had the D&C for a miscarriage that I would need to take precautions and not get pregnant again so soon but that’s not the case with me. I understand that after any invasive procedure I should be careful but 2 weeks seems like a long time to me.
I am seeing alot of judgmental and sarcastic answers here. If I had wanted answers like that I would have asked high schoolers. This is a serious question and anything other than a serious answer will be reported as abuse.

Think of what actually went on inside…..its a rough way to deal with delicate and IMPORTANT tissue. I think when they give time frames like that….its to cover all people, even slow healers. Which is especially important to pay attention to……lots of times if you injure your skin, the pain of injury passes before the skin totally heals, so its hard to gauge your healing progress when you cant see the damaged tissue. Just Please take his 2 week time frame to heart. There is no point on risking infection on unhealed tissue or hurting yourself. You’ll be back to bliss sooner than you think!
